Sapphire Ring Smashes Expectations, Triples at Auction

A 6.59-carat sapphire ring emerged as the standout lot at Heritage’s recent jewelry auction in Dallas, Texas, achieving more than three times its top estimate.

The ring features an octagonal Kashmir sapphire flanked by two trapezoid-cut diamonds. It sold for $906,250 against a high estimate of $300,000 at the May 4 Spring Fine Jewelry Signature Auction, according to Heritage. Several other pieces at the event also significantly exceeded their projected values.

Overall, the auction achieved $9.7 million in sales, setting a new record for the company’s jewelry auctions. This milestone follows closely after Heritage’s previous record of $9.2 million in September 2025, highlighting sustained momentum and strong global demand for rare, high-quality gemstones.

The sale included notable creations from prestigious maisons such as Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Bulgari, alongside an array of diamonds and colored gemstones.
